So When I was delivering the couch I decided to unload for a quick picture. Of course the blue wall was OK but the fire hydrant. Love it!!

Respect the craft!

Taking on the carousel horse. Its a real pleasure to be able to perform my talents on this amazing Carousel horse, the amazing the wood carving work that has been done on this horse all finished by hand tools.. We named him Spartacus. He is an amazing warrior horse with so much character.  I have not only had to completely strip and sand him, we then have had to re carve all the intricate lines of detail. Patch all the old damage from thousands of kids enjoying the ride and rebuild the fine details the original carver added when he envisioned him. I am thankful to restore such a beautiful piece of art and history. Here is just a snap shot of the amount of attention he is getting from me. And my son Daniel is super happy to hang with Spartacus Too.

Before and after shots!!!!

Three colors of glaze over custom color.

The Importance of taking pictures can either land you a project or without pictures you may lose the project. Being able to show a client work that relates to their certain requests is priceless!. Many times I request my customers look through the work I have completed for other clients. When they take the time to view our website www.reddingpaint.com they can see I provide a level of service many don't offer. Below I simply wanted to show the before and after shots of a local cabinet project. Pictures are worth more than a thousand words. They worth another project.

Crusin through!!

Staying on top of business. Today I needed to Apply some finishing touches to the couch I painted with 1800's real milk paint. I love this product. Has similiar properties as lime wash. I enjoy the chalky white semi trans effect too. Technique "negative space removal while wet"

Patience!!

Everyday brings a rush of adrenaline!! Just simply trying to complete all the things you need to do everyday.      I wonder if I run on caffeine or adrenaline. Finding patience is tough. But patience is what makes each project a success. Without patience there would be no quality. When a project demands a lot of attention in the area of prep work, you rely on your employees to help you complete the work, your asking for their patience, you want someone to care about the work that they are performing. If your employees performance is not a direct reflection of your work or what you would do yourself,  or of the image you wish to portray to the client,  than why are they still working? I have seen the other side of this many times. And it really takes a lot of character and self respect to perform at 100%. I didn't say effort!! The work is easy when you put nothing but the work first. If your having difficulties find your patience then focus on the work and nothing else. All the other things in their own time. And remember why you do this. If it's for money than you need to find another trade! This trade demands the highest level of patience. And either you have what it takes or you don't and than you are the status quo!

Again we will not settle for the status quo! We will excel and outperform at all levels in the finish industry! Bring on December as we finish taking care of our clients and I must finish that carousel horse!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Today I woke up excited about getting back into the book I started last night. The moments alone while all the family is still asleep seem to be more precious for focusing or meditating on my ideas and my passions for making changes in Architectural coatings industry. The book is called Tribes by Seth Godin. The book has nothing to do with the industry but instead a motivational book on leading and being a heretic with your passions and to step forward tackling the fears of failure. So today I will enjoy this amazing family and the food in front of me while in the back of my mind my thoughts will be stewing on tool creation, this industry and how to be different and how I am going to grow,  and lead a loyal tribe of followers and those who believe in me and my vision to success. And I in return will give everything I have with an enduring passion to follow through and not settle for the status quo!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving

Well my new blog is cool! We are heading out to Sonoma for the weekend and I will be in the shop today building another one of my painting tools. What an amazing thing to be thankful for . God has given me these amazing ideas and is helping me to create the design the idea and helping me follow through. At this Thanksgiving I am so thankful for so much. But the best is the three little smiles that greet me every morning everyday and every night. The three little wrestlers that sometimes kick and punch. The three little messy Marvins always making a mess. The three little boys who always speak at once. Thanks

Checking out my new blog.

I was getting a little bored with trying to post my work to face book so I have decided to start my own blog. This way I can share as much content as I want with all my clients and also have the ability to meet new people in the industry as well. So here we go I'll try uploading a picture of an amazing kitchen and see if this will work.
